Disability Rights of West Virginia (DRWV) is the federally mandated protection and advocacy system for West Virginia for individuals with disabilities.

Requirements/Qualifications:

DRWV is seeking an advocate to perform work in multiple programs to protect and preserve the rights of people with disabilities. Travel throughout the state is required. Applicants must have excellent communication skills to effectively interact with diverse populations, including people with disabilities. The applicant must represent the agency in a professional manner during facility visits, meetings and presentations.

 

Duties include direct advocacy, outreach and monitoring facilities and other locations that provide services to this population. It is preferred but not required that applicants have a bachelor’s degree and experience working with people with disabilities. Telework is available, but ideally, applicant would reside within 60 minute drive from our Charleston or Bridgeport office.

Work Schedule:

  • Full Time

  • Monday to Friday

  • 8 hour shift

  • Weekends and overtime as needed

  • Work Location: Hybrid remote in Charleston or Bridgeport office.

Salary Range:

$31,000 - $45,000.00 per year (negotiable depending on knowledge and experience).
